DENTAL IMPLANTS

Whether you’ve lost one tooth or several, whether it’s a new situation or something you’ve lived with for years, you may now have replacement teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth.

Removable dentures and unsightly bridgework can be a thing of the past.

What is a dental implant?
Through advanced dental science, we can now offer patients titanium tooth roots, which fuse with the jawbone to form a secure foundation for tooth replacement.

What happens when you lose a tooth?

When teeth are lost, the bone, which had been previously supporting the roots, is not needed any more, so nature shrinks it away.

As a result, remaining teeth will shift and drift out of position. However, if the missing tooth is replaced by a dental implant, the bone is preserved and the negative results of tooth loss are eliminated.

THE TREATMENT STEPS

1. The first step is the placement of the titanium implant. The implant will remain covered underneath the gum for approximately three to six months. During this time, osseointegration takes place.

2. The second step of the procedure involves uncovering the implant and attaching connections. This completes the foundation on which your new tooth will be placed.

3.The final step is the placement of your new tooth. With techniques that ensure optimal size, shape, colour and fit, this replacement tooth will blend with your facial characteristics and remaining natural teeth.
